A few days? Settle down and arrange daily trips to Lake Myvatn, Husavik or Siglufjörður. Leave the car and take the short ferry ride to Hrisey and choose amongst the 3 different walking trails that circle the island. Book a whale watching tour in Hauganes or Árskógssandur away from the crowds of Husavik.
In the winter, it is a perfect place to catch northern lights as it is far enough from light pollution sources.
